A book that actually gives great advice instead of showing off! Kindle Customer S. McCamish Most of these "Tips" books are written in a self-important language where the author spends more time trying to tell you how great he or she is than really imparting anything that you couldn't figure out on your own. THIS book actually gives some good advice and is well-written! While some of it is plain common sense, I don't think everyone would think of everything in this book. I was surprised how much I learned. In fact, I liked it so much I purchased the paperback after I'd already read the Kindle version just so I could have it on my shelf. "Excellent information for a beginner" according to Dr. Kirby D. Slifer. This book is an excellent source of information for the beginning sax player. I found a heck of a lot of info regarding all aspects of the saxophone, from playing, music theory, maintenance and sax terminology. Seems like a very good review for seasoned players as well. There are tracks available to listen to for demonstration purposes, however, I bought the Kindle version and apparently, these tracks are not available, which really sucks, big time..
