This election season was no fun, so I thought if I read a book This election season was no fun, so I thought if I read a book of poems about the election it might be a great diversion. I normally do not use the words "politics" and "delightful" in the same sentence, but this refreshing, thought provoking book of political poems was delightful to read. It was nice not to hear hate and attacks and lies. Doris did not restrict herself to rhyming or lyric, like AABB or ABAB, instead she chose what I consider to be. Excellent Insight Into a Turbulent Election Barbara D. Kudos on using poetry to give an insightful analysis of the 2016 presidential election. My favorite poem was 'A Meeting in the Woods' which through the use of words felt my pain but also gave me hope. Part of hope is understanding what happened and the remaining poems pinpointed what many voters, Democrat and Republican alike were feeling when they cast their votes. Who needs pundits when you can find answers in poetry. Good job.. vote for a candidate who was clearly not the best person to lead our country Amazon Customer After the 2016 election I struggled to understand why so many Americans chose to vote for a candidate who was clearly not the best person to lead our country. The poems in "2016 Political Poems", are a reminder of how many Americans never recovered from the housing crash in 2007. People voted not for a candidate but against entrenched politicians. A wonderful, thoughtful book. NE.
