Don't BUY THIS BOOK I have several things to say about this. Charles Dickens is an excellent writer, but I ordered this for English class, and I could not use it. It says unabridged on the cover, but it is different from the original version. Also, there are supposed to be 5 chapters, but the publisher split them up incorrectly into just 3. The quality is bad, and the pages are to big. This is not worth $6. It comes with a free audiobook, which is the correct version of the book. So th. The cover is just high gloss cardboard. The pages are printed on cheap paper. The illustrations are small and indistinct. I was planning to give this as a gift but it was just too tacky. I ended up purchasing the Barnes and Noble faux leather bound version (also sold by Amazon - and for a lot less money). The B&N edition is beautiful. The c. BEWARE OF THIS BOOK - Abridged Version Hug1 This is an abridged version of the classic Dickens novel, not the full text. What makes this charming edition of Dickens's immortal tale so special is the collection of 80 vivid illustrations by Everett Shinn (1876-1953). Though countless editions of this classic have been published over the years, this one stands out as particularly beautiful, nostalgic, and evocative of the spirit of Christmas. Printed on heavy, cream-colored paper stock, the edges of the pages have been left rough, simulating the way in which the story might have appeared in Dickens's own time. In the history of English literature, Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, which has been continuously in print since it was first published in the winter of 1843, stands out as the quintessential Christmas story

As the story progresses and Christmas morning approaches, Scrooge encounters the unforgettable characters that make this story a classic: Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and, of course, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.. This one-of-a-kind performance puts a unique spin on a treasured classic, and served as the inspiration for the exciting new line of Audible Signature Classics, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with Elijah Wood, and Heart of Darkness with Kenneth Branagh. Tim Curry performs this timeless holiday story in a deliciously dark tone, returning it to its Dickensian roots with a vivid imagining of Victorian
