Beautiful, filled with inspiration and detailed instruction. HappyDaisyAZ Chris Cozen has done it again. I loved her book Acrylic Solutions Acrylic Solutions: Exploring Mixed Media Layer by Layer and I love this book, Acrylic Color Explorations every bit as much. I purchased the book sight unseen because I have learned so much from Chris Cozen from her helpful YouTube videos, her blog and her online presence. This book was so much more than I was expecting. I figured it would be helpful for choosing colors or how colors work well together. It is all of that, but it's also FILLED with examples, exercises and step by step demonstrations, not only in color theory but in art instruction as well.. If your looking to understand color this is it! Kindle Customer this is my second book by Chris Cozen and as with the other book this one is packed with information I can understand. I'm a newbie when it comes to art and so many times the color in my mind and that that shows up on my board is not the same, in fact I make a lot of mud! Why? I saw other artist that use all these colors and they seem to meld well, why not mine. So when I saw that she came out with this Color book I had to get it and I'm not sorry. I like the step by step and it really shows how colors work together. Its been helpful for me and I will be keeping this book as a reference for a long time.. Not your usual book on color peg First of all, I love the spiral bound book because it always lays flat. The paints of today are so overwhelming; how do I mix them to get what I want, how do I create depth and make my painting "sing". When my painting needs something how do I figure out what to do instead of scraping it or painting over the entire canvas. Wow, this book answers these questions in a clear easily understandable way. Like usual Chris Cozen doesn't disappoint, this book is full of lively colorful examples that I "get". Thank for for writing a colorful informative book that self trained artists understand.
