I gave up on Danielle Steel a few years ago all novels had the same pitch, and it became not enjoyable to read her, after, reading many many of her books This was recommended by a friend, who could not put it down That's what I like to hear about a book I was totally into it as well, and will try Ms Steel anothe. She showed us the love of a mother/daughter relationship Betty I would give it a hundred stars, if possible! I think Ms Steel out did herself in the writing of this book. She showed us the love of a mother/daughter relationship, husband/wife, woman/country, and all of this in the first half of the book. This we did a complete turn and she was pursuing a career in medicine w. "The Best Ever!" according to Marcia Wegmann. I loved this book so much I did not want it to end; it was VERY interesting from beginning to end with many twists and turns that were woven into the plot. One of this author's must reads, I think!
