Giffen had transformed his art style in the 1980’s to a very stylized, impressionist look which I personally found very appealing. In 1986, an article in The Comics Journal accused Giffen of copying Muñoz art and even included some side-by-s. Patrick G. Phillips said Quite possibly the best crime comics ever made. They could of done a lot better with quality. Especially being that they're doing an incredible job with the Corto Series
