"Functional and Fun" according to Don Quickoats. I am an utter recorder newbie looking for interesting tunes, especially Celtic, and this book hit the mark -- as far as I can tell. This book contains over 20 tunes that seem genuinely Celtic or Irish (maybe some are Scottish). I have never heard them before. There is nothing otherwise special about the book though I do enjoy the Celtic decorations on the pages. I am enjoying learning the tunes and practicing with it. I'll make use of it. "Great music!" according to S. Reid. This book contains a large number of lively and lovely tunes that are perfect for the soprano recorder that I play. Good for an intermediate student at least, and something to aim for if you're a beginner who loves Irish music. You'll get plenty of practice on the high notes and using just about the whole range of your instrument. Guitar chords are included. It's lots of fun!. Good songs that are fun to play. Jack Reynolds This book has a little bit for everyone. There are a few pieces in here that are good for beginners, but for the most part it is for people who have at least some experience with the recorder. There are some very nice tunes in here. Most of them sound good on any recorder (soprano, alto, sopranino, etc.). A delightful collection of traditional Celtic pieces.
