Fired Up: An Arcane Society Novel (Dreamlight Trilogy)
Description
Sheila M said Great Story of Outsiders. FIRED UP Is the first book in the Dreamlight Trilogy and also the seventh book in the Arcane Society series. The Arcane series is about those with paranormal talents who have secret society. That society is in danger for an internal foe who are using a formula to enhance talents for criminal purposes. The series spans three time periods: historicals (Amanda Quick), contemporaries (Jayne Ann Krentz) and futuristics (Jayne Castle). The Dreamlight Trilogy is part of the series and can be read independent of the other books (although the books are better in context of the entire series). The Dreamlight Trilogy fo. Kindle Customer said So good I bought it twice. This series never fails to fascinate me. Though I have most of the arcane books on my bookshelf I have started adding them to my kindle collection for rereading. Tracking the paranormal activity of the Arcane society from Amanda Quick's regency England to the current era of Jayne Krentz then on to Jane Castle in the futuristic Harmony is so completely unique. This time I'm reading them out of order but similar time frames. They are so beautifully woven together that they flow perfectly in any order. Grab one and try it. Highly recommended. "Works better than a dish soap to "take me away!"" according to Lori Williams. In a series of books, I like to start at the beginning and work my way though chronologically. I think it's fun to see a name and/or situation referred to and remember the story from the other book--I feel like an insider. However, in this series, I haven't read the books that are set in the past (written by her pseudonym Amanda Quick)--not my style (although I think it's really cool that she writes the series from three different perspectives, because then there's something for everyone)--but information that's important to the current storyline is summed up, so if you do miss a book or two, you'll figure it
Both men are driven to control their psychic abilities, and their decisions have reverberated throughout the family line, rewarding some with powers beyond their wildest dreams, and cursing others to a life filled with madness and hallucinations. Jack Winters, descendant of Nicholas, has been experiencing nightmares and blackoutsjust the beginning, he believes, of the manifestation of the Winters family curse. Danger surrounds them, and it doesn’t take long for Chloe to pick up the trail of the missing lamp. More than three centuries ago, Nicholas Winters irrevocably altered his genetic makeup in an obsession-fueled competition with alchemist and Arcane Society founder Sylvester Jones. And as she and Jack draw closer to it, the raw power that dwells within it threatens to sweep them into a hurricane of psychic power.. Jack is convinced that private investigator Chloe Harper is that woman. Her talent for finding objects and accessing dream energy are what will save him, but a sudden and powerful sexual pull threatens to overwhelm them both. The legend says that he must find the Burning Lamp or risk turning into a monster. But he can’t do it alone; he needs the help of a woman with the talent to read the lamp’s dreamlight
Jayne: These are the futuristic romances that I write under my Jayne Castle name. I never expected all three to attract an audience, but that is what happened. If I remember correctly, I was very much against it since I loved your books. When I come out of one world I am ready to plunge into a different one. And what happened? Horror stories? I don’t think so—you hit the New York Times list right off. The idea was to see which of my three worlds worked best: the Jayne Ann Krentz contemporaries, the Amanda Quick historicals, or the Jayne Castle futuristics. What an
