Buy all the books you can in these series. Troy Stetina definitely comes through again with this book. Combined with Speed Lead Mechanics this method of learning guitar is comprehensive. A complete beginner who is willing to put in the amount of time required using Troys books ( ie. lead and rhythm primer-speed lead mechanics--lead rhythm 1 & 2 and Fretboard mastery) will gain a high level of musical fluidity and technical mastery of the instrument. A friend of mine started with lead mechanics when he was a 16 and by the time he was 18 he was shredding and winning guitar war competitions and drawing crowds at music stores when he jammed.
