"Excellent" according to KiraNyres. Dayton Ward's Trek books are always excellent and this one is no exception. Signs of a great Trek author include knowing your characters, their idiosyncrasies the dynamics between them, knowing your canon & keeping up to date on the trek literature, lastly still finding an interesting story to tell about people & characters written about for decades. In all of these things Dayton Ward succeeds, this book kept me hooked, going between two time periods and weaving a tale through the centuries. While this is fabulous as a stand alone .
