I have no problem with Professor Ginsberg broadening the usual sense in which "resistance" is used. He nicely organizes data showing that the Jews were active in several anti-Nazi areas. But when he characterizes the Jewish activities as "defeating" Hitler, as he does in the title of the book, he is misleading the potential reader. A title more like "How the Jews Contributed to the Defeat of Hitler" would be more accurate and honest, albeit less "sexy." My second concern is that of the 169 pages of text, the. concerns with it. He lays out a very convincing case of how Jews acted during WWII and shows that when they had a chance to do so they acted with great courage and daring. The title should not put you off. It is an excellent and well documented book. I am a professor of thirty years experience and I learned so much from reading it.The author has a light touch with a profound point to make.
