Merri's not a believer, but she's just desperate enough to go down that road, praying that she's not too late. Read the stunning bestseller voted a Best Book finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards! New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger "builds a sense of place for The Hollows that rivals Stephen King's Castle Rock for continuity and creepiness." (The News & Observer - Raleigh)"For fans of dark and twisty psychological suspense, Ink and Bone is not to be missed." (Lisa Scottoline, New York Times bestselling author of Most Wanted)Twenty-year-old Finley Montgomery is rarely alone. Visited by people whom others can't see and haunted by prophetic dreams she has never been able to control or understand, Finley is terrified by the things that happen to her. With almost every hope exhausted, she resorts to hiring Jones Cooper, a detective who sometimes works with psychic Eloise Montgomery. As Finley digs deeper into the town and its endless layers, she is forced to examine the past, even as she tries to look into the future. Only one thing is clear: The Hollows gets what it wants, no matter what.. "Starting with Beautiful Lies I have read everything of hers I could" according to Amber Garabrandt. I am a huge fan of Lisa Unger, having read her work for the past decade. Starting with Beautiful Lies I have read everything of hers I could find. That said, I may be a bit biased. Ink and Bone almost slipped by me- I had no idea we were gearing up for another novel (though I ought to have considering the novellas about the Hollows came not too long ago, along with Crazy Love You). Unger owns a piece of my heart because her writing style is always spot on. Every time I think I know the answer… I missed something. The characters are always interesting and the plot is always unique and slightly twist. "4 Stars Kindle Customer I debated between 3.5 and 4 stars on this one but decided I could justify a 4 based on my overall enjoyment of the book and ignore the few parts I didn't love.SYNOPSISLisa Unger brings us back to The Hollows, a quintessential New England small town not far outside of NYC. The town has a mix of long time residents with roots from as far back as the 1600's and new residents, mostly families leaving NYC searching for a more tranquil life. This mix gives the town a mostly cohesive yet fairly economically diverse population. Jones Cooper ( former Hollows police officer and current private detective) is back in. "Dark and Compelling Thriller - Must read!" according to Rissa. This book was purchased in advance of Unger, the author, doing a public meet and greet in our town. I wanted to read it before meeting her - and it did not disappoint! Getting to talk to her about it in person was even more exciting, as - spoiler alert - I was SHOCKED by who dies in the end of this book. Won't say more. The writing was concise, dramatic and emotionally captivating. I fell in love with all the characters and have bought older books featuring them. Ink and Bone is a dark thriller, with one foot in another world and the other foot, agonizingly, stretched into the minds of those experiencing p
