Description
Loved it. Such a hard hitting book with some Loved it. Such a hard hitting book with some amazing truths. I'm no introvert but you'll find yourself with a red wine on the couch reading this thing in the middle of the night. The lack of extreme detail in facial expressions or wording is compensated by the way each page tells a very unique story. I'm a 21 year old guy but the amount of times I've caught friends randomly sitting in my loungeroom with this book, eyes intently reading, is just amazing.. Ligia said Excellent. This book promote an excellent analysis of our reality, i love the visual narrative that it has. I recomended for people that believe in social constructivism.. "Good content difficult size" according to basak cevik. Content is nice, hence the size is really difficult to keep and for shipmentEspecially if you request it from far away.
"In Pieces is a glowing example of what comics are and can be; evidence that the comics medium, in this moment, is perhaps more vibrant and exciting than any other." - Heavy Feather ReviewIn Pieces is an uncommon piece of visual poetry by French illustrator and comic artist Marion Fayolle that calls to mind at once the surrealist whimsy of Codex Seraphinianus, the visual neatness of Gregory Balckstock’s illustrated lists, and the vignettes of Blexbolex--and yet Fayolle’s is a sensibility unlike anything that ever existed.” -Brain Pickings"Spectacularthis truly is something special Funny, sexy, touching and in parts rather philosophical, this sweet tome is an absolute joy to get lost in." - It's Nice ThatFayolle strips the comics medium back to its essentials" - Art Review 2013
A few pages later, a couple fight for the custody of their daughter until she's cut in two. A man comes home to his lover, his hands tainted by the dress of another woman. In Pieces is a beautiful book of visual poetry, in which all common metaphors are explained through images only.
