"Great value for the developing student" according to MusicalFamily. My students love this book and the original compositions that are reminiscent of the golden era of Jazz and Blues. I surprisingly have many requests to play the songs in these books as I have used them as recital pieces for students in the past. All the pieces have great value in using the method taught in Alfred's Basic Piano Library - which is what I use this series in conjunction with. The only drawback is that most of the materia. "Enjoying Some of the Pieces" according to Elizabeth Blue. This is a nice little book of beginner pieces. I have really enjoyed some of the pieces and liked others quite a bit less; I guess that is to be expected in any collection. My one complaint is that, to me, quite a few of the pieces sound very similar, and now that I am about halfway through the book I am getting rather tired of the "same old" sound.
