Raul said Spanish/English poetry reflecting a migrant's heart. This collection of free verse is by a poet currently living in my own area of southernmost Texas, thus it's no surprise to find it expressing a poignancy befitting the borderlands of the U.S. and Mexico. My favorite poem in this relatively brief volume is "Born of water," which symbolizes the narrator's stages of traveling not only geographically but, as a result, through jarring changes in life.
