"Good starter collection" according to Lola Jo Moss. If you don't know anything about Gershwin's role in American musical history, both popular and classical, this is a useful book. It comprises a small collection of his songs and a somewhat broader selection of his classical piano music. The songs are within the ability of most pianists of average competence; the classical pieces are much more difficult. I would have preferred two volumes that separated the genr.
