foxtrotoscar said Not Quite Up To Speed!. I have been a Ludlum/Bourne fan for "Not Quite Up To Speed!" according to foxtrotoscar. I have been a Ludlum/Bourne fan for 20 years or more. However, this book was somewhat of a disappointment. Through the first 25%, it was the Bourne of old--lots of action and excitement. But, then the plot went flat--long trips, interminable meetings and behind the scenes intrigue. Finally, in the last 15 % of the book, things picked up to the pace you'd expect in this type of novel. Despite this dramatic rise in the action, the reader is left with a hollow plot that rushes . 0 years or more. However, this book was somewhat of a disappointment. This is my least favorite of the entire series. Bad, bad, bad. It felt like an entire day at the dentist, then as you are leaving something satisfying happens.. William Oliver McIntire said DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.. I am a big fan of the early Bourne books and movies. Unfortunately, The Bourne Ascendancy is not very well written and is remarkably unrealistic. If not for the Bourne "franchise", it seems unlikely that an editor would accept this for publication. I would not recommend this for anyone who likes the special agent type of adventure.
