Six Easy Pieces: Essentials of Physics Explained by Its Most Brilliant Teacher
Description
. Frank, Harvard Univ. Recommended for academic and public libraries. From Library Journal This book reprints the six easiest chapters from Feynman's celebrated Lectures on Physics (LJ 12/15/63), which the Nobel Prize-winning scientist delivered from 1961 to 1963 at the California Institute of Technology. Nonetheless, because Lectures on Physics is out of print and because the information is still relevant, reprinting these specific chapters was probably a realistic move. They discuss atoms, basic physics, the relation of physics to other sciences, the conservation of energy, gravitation, and quantum behavior. Intended for as wide an audience as possible, these chapters
Not so bad at all - quite good actually Miljan Matovic Wanted to learn some physics, heard about Feynman, bought the book and managed to learn a few things One thing I didn't like is that he believes that everything is physics and the other sciences are just a branch (with mathematics not being a science at all) but that is just a flavor of his personal belief. bigwater said Five Stars. Feynman shows how Physics works. Understandings of basic laws expand to knowledge of a variety of more complex phenomena.. Good for the uninitiated. This book is enjoyable and brief, while the ideas remain relatable and easily digestible. I'd suggest this to either a grade school student to foster their interest in the ways the world works or to an adult who's rediscovering what they'd lost to the sands of time.Scientific knowledge covered in this book
He died in 1988.. Richard P. In 1965 he received the Nobel Prize for his work on quantum electrodynamics. from Princeton. Feynman was raised in Far Rockaway, New York, and received his Ph.D. He held professorships at both Cornell and the California Institute of Technology
Feynman's landmark work, Lectures on Physics—specifically designed for the general, non-scientist reader—with the actual recordings of the late, great physicist delivering the lectures on which the chapters are based. This set couples a book containing the six easiest chapters from Richard P. Six Easy Pieces: Essentials of Physics Explained by Its Most Brilliant Teacher is a publishing first. Nobel Laureate Feynman gave these lectures just once, to a group of Caltech undergraduates in 1961 and 1962, and these newly released recordings allow you to experience one of the Twentieth Century's greatest minds—as if you were right there in the classroom.
