A taste of Lovecraft StFrSc I have wanted to read this story for years, and now I'm so glad that I have. I found that the writing style/grammar was a bit "complicated" at first and I had a hard time following the story, but then I purchased the Audible narration. I then listened as I read, in what is called "immersion reading". Now I could pronounce all of the strange words such as "Cthulhu" and "R'lyeh". I was enjoying this strange tail at last and it turns out that I loved it! I now want to read more of Lovecraft, now I kno. Doktor John said Vocabulary in the service of fantasy. This is a fun book, especially for those with exceptional vocabulary and/ or willingness to toggle back and forth between Lovecraft and Merriam-Webster. Such lofty and intricate verbiage seems to be the means by which Lovecraft imbues his fantasy monster and occult monster works with almost- unspeakable horror and evil. In other words, his hyperbolic and grandiloquent denunciation of Cthulhu's repulsive traits, both physical and metaphysical employs every available semantic tool and arcane vocabula. good read. marginal edit. The story is all there. This particular version either lacks proof reading or was purposefully seasoned with typos. Still a good story.
