Description

Scarred and scared and initially bound to be euthanized, the dogs were saved by a fearless team of advocates who fought for their rights and futures. Now, on the tenth anniversary of the bust, The Lost Dogs author Jim Gorant picks up their stories where he left off, tracking the striving and thriving, trials and triumphs, and happiness and heartbreaks that have characterized their lives. The Found Dogs follows up on the New York Times bestseller The Lost Dogs which chronicled the abuse of 51 pit bulls taken from Michael Vick’s dogfighting operation, and the heroic attempts to rescue and rehabilitate them. The Found Dogs brings the story of The Lost Dogs full circle.

. He is the author of four books, Wallace, The Lost Dogs, and Fanatic. About the Author Jim Gorant is a Senior Editor and writer at Sports Illustrated

Where they are now Brings the story of the Vicktory dogs closer to closure. They are now, or were, beloved family members and not to be labeled as fighting dogs. They have persevered, through cold concrete shelters, court hearings, and prejudicial attitudes. This book puts some rumors to rest, and also demonstrates that assumptions about breed characteristics are not at all accurate. And it reminds me of why I fell in love with these dogs and their stories, their rise from the pits of hell to becoming ambassadors for the bree. Finally another dog book from Gorant! Father2Otis Ok, full disclosure: just started this book. loved both The Lost Dogs and Wallace. The lost dogs in particular was an amazing book about forgiveness and redemption - for the dogs, not Vick. Updates when I finish.. Great book following up on the Vick Dogs Chad Homme I bought this earlier today and couldn't wait to read it. Exciting to see the progress dogs have madesad to see the health issues and what not that have come up. Happy moments and sad moments. A must read for anyone that follows their stories. Thank you for documenting this journey and bringing us along for the ride.
