Our Minneapolis Institute of the Arts staged an immense exhibit on Martin Luther and his Age just last year, and it was both informative and inspiring. When I saw this title I realized the German museum had made a similar exhibit and would give me visuals and information I could peruse at my leisure, and the book has fulfilled my expectations and exceeded them. The title alone drew me into the book with its emphasis on the impact of one individual person on human history, But the subtitle - PROTESTANTISM - 500 HUNDRED YEARS IN THE WORLD - shows the b. pohangsaram said Great book to read and see. This is a superbly crafted book. It contains many beautiful pictures of historical artifacts and art works, some with expert explanations, as well as informative articles written by leading scholars on the subject they deal with. Many of the pictures cover Korean and Tanzanian artifacts and paintings rarely displayed in any western country. Just looking through the pictures alone will certainly give one the impression that the book deserves the price.
