The Moving Image Workshop: Introducing animation, motion graphics and visual effects in 45 practical projects (Required Reading Range)
Description
Five Stars Super nice guide book for motion graphic freshman.. A solid intro to animation packed with project ideas. The Moving Image workshop is packed with project ideas that help students with basic animation principles. It has an easy to follow format that is based on teaching concepts as opposed to technical elements or software. Also, it's packed with examples and stills, so I think it should help students visually as they plan their animated works. As a digital media instructor, I find the projects ideas really helpful.

Stephen Hibbert, University of Huddersfield, UK An extensively researched and beautifully illustrated book, which helps to explore the expansive range and various applications of animation while giving a good background into the basic principles as well. Its application of various projects create a useful bridge between technical practice and creative application. The chapter on character development and character appeal is inspired and further refines the definition of what is successful in animation. The Moving Image Workshop offers a concise, thorough and realistic approach to creating well thought out and engaging animations.
