All lawyers should watch this movie The movie credits say this is based on a novel by John Grisham; good that they included that disclaimer because there were many liberties taken with the story line. However, the age old story of David taking on Goliath and triumphing was there, and despite the award by the jury, the insurance company had a way out. Sometimes art truly does imitate life. The actors we good inter roles, Matt Damon rescuing the damsel in distress and coming to the aid of the little guy, Danny DeVito was convincing in his role of Drek. I watched it by myself but encouraged my husband to make time to see this movie.. Cathy M. Riso said Well Worth Seeing!. Very early Damon, vintage DeVito! I love John Grisham's books and this film did his book justice. The performances were strongMary Kay Place, Jon Voigt, Claire Danes, Andrew Shue, and of course, Matt Damon and Danny DeVito. Very southern, sadly, very realistic portrayal of "class" system politics there, and some satisfying triumphs, if not necessarily in traditional ways. Highly recommend!
