William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream

William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream
Description
Twelfth Night Bought this along with the Audible reading. I got it to go along with an Audible "Great Course" on Shakespeare. I enjoyed the reading, but the reading and the book itself kept coming unsynced. It was very distracting and therefore I can only give this 3 stars. I wanted to read along and also hear it read by experienced Shakespearean actors. As said, the reading was very distracting by the recording coming unsynced from the book several times. If Amazon is going to charge extra for the Audible reading, the least that can be done is to make sure it's synced with the book.. "Forgettable, but Great While it Lasts" according to T. A. Kleinhans. This is definitely a classic Shakespearean comedy, complete with disguises, intrigue, love, humor, and a lot of fun. In all honesty, I am not generally a big fan of comedies, but this is definitely an example of an exception. Really, it will never be considered Shakespeare's greatest, but the plot, characters, disguise and romantic elements, and even just the thought of how it would even work on stage when it was originally performed, all contribute to a great mix of humor. If you read it for college, you'll get a lot of people comparing it to "She's the Man" which does get really annoying. As usual, Shakespeare doesn't disappoint. It was a little bit difficult to read, but the footnotes really helped. I never have to use sparknotes for the Folgers Shakespeare Library editions since it's very straightforwards and there's a lot of information on the side.
A solo recording of A Midsummer Night's Dream in an American dialect.
